Last month, on Easter weekend, I headed to New Orleans for work. When I found out I was going, I knew I had to extend my trip by a few days so I could enjoy one of my favorite cities. I hadn't been since 2008 and had been DYING to go back. The beignets and coffee with chicory were calling my name.
The booth I setup for the events I do when I travel. We specialize in electronics and such for marathon runners and setup at big running expos all around the country. So much fun!
Meeting one of the amazing performers in the Mardi Gras parade. Very Carnivale-esque!
The line for Cafe du Monde stretched down the sidewalk! CRAZY! Last time I went, a hurricane was coming through, so the place was a ghost town. I wasn't expecting this.
When I finally got to a table and got my iced coffee and beignets, I was in absolute heaven! People watching in the Quarter is the best. It was so relaxing and just what I needed.
I love this picture I took of the Cathedral. Such a beautiful place.
The Freret Street Festival. During the week, I ended up befriending the local girl we hired to help me with the booth and she told me about this festival. In the course of the day, I also ended up sharing a cab with a girl traveling from Paris. I love when random things like that happen. We walked around the festival, had some drinks, local food, and listened to a fun bluegrass band.
On Easter Sunday I went to my favorite little patio cafe, The Market Cafe. It's one of the few places in the Quarter you can eat outside and hear local jazz live. It's AWESOME. I ordered the same thing as last time, the New Orleans Sampler and a couple Bloody Mary's. Just looking at the picture is making me crave it all again!
Tomorrow, I'll share with you guys pictures from the Garden District and Lafeyette Cemetary walking tour I went on. I even saw a few celeb homes AND one of the actors from Water for Elephants! Any guesses who?!?
