The season that almost never was. Mad Men is back for season five and I am in HEAVEN!
I wrote a while back that I was always intrigued by the show but once I miss episode one of season one, it's too late for me to become a fan. Thankfully, I found the series on Netflix and watched diligently for 6 weeks, cramming all four seasons in. It started out slow in the first couple episodes and then I was hooked.
For one, I absolutely adore *most* of the clothes in the show. The guys always look so darn ravishing, well maybe just Don. Betty portrays herself to be the quintessential housewife when in reality, it seems she just wants out. I'd naturally say those two are my favorites.
Last Sunday was the season premiere and I wasn't disappointed. It was obviously a smash as the song "Zou Bisou Bisou" was trending on Twitter, Yahoo, and basically every other social site on the planet. Did you guys like Megan's rendition for Don?
I just don't know how I feel about them as Mr. and Mrs. Don Draper. I was so attached to Betty, even though she was completely neurotic and a pretty awful mother. Megan is great with the kids, makes Don feel young again, but I just don't know. It will be so interesting to see where season five takes them.
Anyway...if you guys love Mad Men as much as I do...here's a few things you'll adore.
For one, Banana Republic now has a Limited Edition Mad Men Collection. DIE! Check out a few of these pieces...
If you have friends who love Mad Men, make sure you send them an awesome e-card courtesy of Eight O'Clock Coffee. Check them out here.
Last but certainly not least, the fine folks at Eight O' Clock Coffee gave me the awesome opportunity to review and giveaway some of their coffee!
I am a coffee connoisseur and ever since taking a job in a cube in Charlotte way back, I've become one of those people. You know, the ones who can't possibly function without a cup of coffee?
I had never tried Eight O'Clock Coffee before and was surprised to know they have been around since 1859. They have all kinds of roasts and flavors including: Colombian, Decaf, Original, French Roast, 50% Decaf, Hazelnut, and more. They sent me their original ground coffee with 100% Arabica beans. I'm normally a pretty bold girl who likes her coffee with chicory. That's an acquired taste and one most people don't go for. Every now and then it's nice to slow it down with a more mild coffee and that's what Eight O'Clock is for me. It has a nice, rich flavor but is very mild which I like. I can drink this stuff without flavorings or cream, just straight up. It's very smooth and the perfect coffee to have around for anyone visiting your home. It's sure to please everyone.
They also sent me a recipe to try out called the Caramel O'Clock Coffee, so I wanted to share it with you guys :)
You'll need to brew a cup of your favorite Eight O'Clock Coffee, some caramel topping, milk or cream, whipped cream, and some toffee bits for garnish. I couldn't find a Heath bar, so I skipped the toffee.
You'll want to drizzle some caramel into a mug like so...
...brew your coffee, add your milk or creamer, top with whipped cream, and garnish with your toffee bits. When you're done you should have something delish like this...
Let me tell you, this drink was so yummy! I love to make my own coffee drinks at home to save money, but I never experiment with fancy schmancy drinks like these. Super easy to do and totally worth it in the morning when you need something jazzy to start your day. Such a perfect drink to make when entertaining too. Your guests will be totally impressed and will love Eight O'Clock.
Now for the giveaway! They are going to give one lucky blog follower of mine TWO coupons for free bags of Eight O'Clock coffee AND a stainless steel travel mug. How awesome is that? To enter, use the Rafflecopter giveaway below. Giveaway ends April 15th at midnight, EST.
