After another fun, laughter ensued conversation with Romeo, I realized I hadn't been writing a whole TON of deep entries lately. So, for those of you missing my insightful words of wisdom (insert sarcasm here), here's one for you.
What exactly is love?
I ponder this question just like, "What is the meaning of life?" They both have pretty heavy thought processes. What's the first thing that comes to mind for you guys? For me, love is forgiveness. I think that is one of the most powerful gifts a human can possess. But, it goes beyond forgiveness. Love has many faces. It encompasses many things.
Love is sacrifice. It's giving your life for another.
Love is being selfless. Thinking of others before yourself.
Love is support. Showing others you care.
Love is encouragement. Cheering people on when they're at the end of their rope.
Love is intimacy. Feeling intensely connected on a deep level.
Love is transparency. Being your true self, 100% of the time.
Love is trust. Love is being comfortable enough to know, you have nothing to fear.
Love is understanding. Putting yourself in others shoes to see the entire picture.
Love is embracing. It's accepting someone regardless of their faults.
For me, most importantly...
Love is forgiveness. It's accepting mistakes, understanding circumstances, accepting change, and loving just the same.

When I saw the photo for this entry the FIRST thing that popped into my head was 'WHAT IS LOVE?? BABY DON'T HURT ME...DON'T HURT ME...NO MORE' HAHAHAAHHAHA
ReplyDeleteBut in all seriousness...Love for me is unconditional. It means accepting the person for who they really are and loving them regardless of what you agree/disagree on. It means supporting them and helping them make life easier when it gets tough.
There's this book by C.S. Lewis (I haven't read it but I have been meaning to) called The Four Loves. My BFF has read it and she said it was GREAT!
