I still remember my first funeral detail like it was yesterday. It took everything I had to continue folding that flag with a straight face. A young girl, probably 16 or so, was hysterical as the flag was presented, and all I wanted to do was throw the flag down and hug her.
I will never forget when my step-grandpa died and he had a military burial. He obviously didn't die in combat, but just seeing the marines in their dress blues, the flag folding, and the trumpet sounding...made me hysterical.
Those pictures give me chills.
