Child of the 80's & 90's

Okay, so how awesome were the 80's and 90's? I mean, I was probably too young to really appreciate them but all I know is I had some awesome toys, watched awesome shows, and had some crazy clothes. So, in the spirit of randomness...I've chosen to blog about the greatness that was the 80's and 90's and show you guys some of my favorite things.

Television
Muppet Babies was one of my absolute favorites. I remember the theme song and everything. What an awesome show, though I have no idea what a muppet is or why they were alive and living with a human. HAH! Some of the others I loved were: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Hey Dude!, Salute Your Shorts, 321 Contact, Animaniacs, and Tiny Toon Adventures. Ever remember watching PBS and waiting for your name to come across the screen on your birthday?!? I can never remember if it actually did but I always remember with anticipation waiting every year for it to happen.

Toys
Oh man. Toys. Literally, I was one spoiled brat growing up. Being an only child, having a mom who didn't have to work, and a dad who would give me anything I wanted...I had it all. In our four bedroom house growing up, one of the rooms was solely dedicated as my playroom. My dad built me special shelves and cabinets (painted pink of course) to house all of my goods. There are pictures my mom has of every single one of my toys scattered ALL OVER the floor. I'm talking, can't see the carpet...COVERED in toys. HAH! Hot mess. Anyway, of course Barbie was one of my favorites. I had tubs and tubs of Barbies, clothes, the cars, and the playhouse. I loved art stuff and I remember that little scented paper flower maker thing and those gummy bug maker machines. YUM! Naturally, I had an Easy Bake and would get stoked out of my mind to bake my dad cakes that he would swallow in a bite. HAH. Good times growing up back then.

Board Games
Hardly anyone remembers Gooey Louie, but man I loved that game. I was a MASSIVE board game person. I had them all! Mouse Trap, Girl Talk, Mall Madness, Dream Phone...all of them! My favorite was one where you popped a VHS in and played along with the tape. I have NO CLUE what it was called, but I loved it. Anyone remember the 3D Disney board games?

Music
My very first CD ever was Billy Joel "River of Dreams." I still remember who gave it to me. I loved that CD. Naturally, I was a massive NKOTB fan and went to one of their concerts when I was four in Orlando. I had sweatshirts, rugs, dolls, towels, everything you can imagine.

Food
Even though Dunkaroos had a clearly plastic taste (anyone else notice this?) they were mega awesome. Koala Yummies were equally so. My mom allowed me to have these sweet treats but never gummy snacks. Make sense to anyone else? So, I used to always do the trade up trick and swap something of mine for some of those yummy Shark Bites. That white one, meant you were awesome. :)

What were your favorite 80's & 90's things?
