Tonight was the Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting ceremony.
I was super hesitant about going because I thought it would be too painful. My awesome friend Sara said there was no way we were going to miss it, so we went. I'm really glad we did. It was really nice to be around people who were all grieving not just a loss, but the loss of a child. I always hesitate to cry, even in grief comfortable situations. It was helpful feeling like I could and not be judged or thought to look crazy. It was really nice how they did it too. We were asked to put our babies names on a list at the front door. They did some songs, some readings, poems, etc. and then we lit candles. Each babies name was spoken, followed by a bell chime. When your babies name was read, you stood to honor them. It was really amazing.
Us girls decided to skip the reception and head to grab some dinner together afterwards at a super yummy carb crazy noodle place. Super yumzo. While we were there I spotted SNOW! Woo-hoo! At first it started out as super lame flurries and then as we were driving home, it was coming down really well. So, we snapped some pics of us and our excitement over the snow :)
The girlies :)
Sara is clearly STOKED!
I am completely in HEAVEN! I love snow!

I am so glad that you got to honor your baby in such an amazing way!
