Day 17: A book you've read that changed your views on something

I mainly read books that come from the self-help section. I don't think I need tons of help (though some might disagree!) but it interests me to read books that will enable me to be a wiser, more thoughtful person. One such book that really changed my life for the better was...

HI-LARIOUS! I own it on DVD too. Anyway, this book changed my views on dating and relationships in a major way. The bottom line in ANY dating situation is that if a guy really digs you, he'll make it obvious. If he doesn't return your calls, does stupid stuff, only calls when he wants to have sex or is drunk or both, etc...THEN HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU! It's completely basic but completely true. It's something a lot of us don't want to accept or even think about, but if you do...you know. Someone I know recently was in a pseudo relationship with a guy. He JUST broke up with his girlfriend of many years and in walks rebound chick. She gave him what he wanted without any sort of commitment. I'm sure she probably thought there was something, maybe he told her there was and lied, I don't know. The guy was embarrassed by a picture on Facebook of the two of them. It wasn't even this girls main picture, but just tucked into an album. OUCH! Now they are going to be intertwined for the rest of their lives. Yeah, you see where that's going. And it really, really stinks. Obviously, if a guy is embarrassed of pictures, isn't making a commitment, goes through periods of withdraw, etc...he's probably just not that into you.

Anyway, the bottom line of all of this is that this book taught me not to accept BS. It's very clear and plain as day. If a guy thinks I'm something special, he'll make sure I feel that way. He won't want to risk losing me, so he won't act like a jackass. It amazes me so many girls still don't see that stuff.
